Siddur Sababa

*Sababa means AWESOME in Arabic and modern Hebrew slang*

Teaching tefillah is a great challenge in both the day school and the synagogue school environment. Teachers must be able to provide a combination of skills education and iyun tefillah in order for their students to graduate with a meaningful connection to Jewish prayer.

SIDDUR SABABA is an 88-page soft-bound, professionally printed, full-color, interactive workbook/siddur for use in grades 1-9 (even adult education!)

Siddur Sababa has three main goals:

1- Students will learn the meaning of the prayers and the structure of Shacharit

2- Students will be given an outlet for attaching personal meaning to the prayers and expressing amazement at God's hand in the Creation of the world around us.

3- Students will see the connection between Jewish prayer and peoples' role in partnering with God in fixing the world (tikkun olam)

If your students use Siddur Sababa in their daily tefillot or in an iyun tefillah setting, they will be able to

  • add personal meaning to the words,
  • add their own personalized creative prayers and
  • express themselves through drawing, song and drama.
  • Students have a stake in creating the Siddur as they can write, draw and color throughout the book. (Colored pencils are recommended!!!)

Currently, Siddur Sababa is available for weekday Shacharit.
